What is the possible reason to get low compression on your motor? What needs to be replaced?? rings/valves/what??? How much (approx) will the cost of repair be?

It all depends on the damage... have you done a LEAKDOWN test yet to see where the loss is coming from ????

I went all out and rebuilt my bottom end with the best stuff out there....I also did ALL the rebuild myself in my garage....I also had 3 dead pistons (not to mention rings). =)

A simple test to see if your rings are contributing to low compression is to pour a capful of oil into the sparkplug hole. This temporarily seals the rings. If the rings are leaky, your compression will be higher after you pour the oil in. Club DSM shows you how to do it. http://www.dsm.org/menu.epl?item=485#0 There's a thing there about doing a leakdown test yourself as well. If you're really worried about your compression the best way to determine what is exactly wrong, without tearing your engine apart, is to do a leakdown test.
